A Love Renewed: Cait & Ashley’s 10-Year Vow Renewal in Thornbury, Ontario
By Cassie Biffis, Curl Media — Ontario & Destination Wedding Content Creator
There’s a special kind of magic that happens when love stands the test of time. Ten years, countless memories, and a bond that only deepens with every season. Cait and Ashley’s 10-year vow renewal celebration was more than just an event; it was a full-circle moment that beautifully reflected who they are, what they’ve built, and the community that surrounds them with so much love.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Cait and Ashley beyond this day, not just as clients, but as friends. Their names might sound familiar if you’re local to Alliston, Ontario. Together, they own two incredible small businesses: Northern Blush, a boutique floral studio bursting with creativity and colour, and Northern Espresso Bar, the cozy go-to spot for your caffeine fix and local goodies. To say these two embody community, creativity, and connection would be an understatement.
So when I was asked to capture their vow renewal, I knew this day would be something special.
Set against the charm of Thornbury, Ontario, Cait and Ashley gathered their closest family and friends for an intimate celebration that blended romance, artistry, and heart. They transformed a private space, one not typically used for events, into something straight out of a dream. The design was bold yet elegant, filled with bright pinks, oranges, and vibrant floral arrangements that only Cait could bring to life with her signature style. Every petal told a story. Every colour reflected joy.
From the moment I arrived early that afternoon, the air buzzed with excitement and warmth. Cait and Ashley shared quiet moments together, surrounded by the most stunning florals (of course!) and the golden glow of early evening light. Photographing and filming them was effortless; they’re naturals in front of the camera and even more beautiful together in the small glances and smiles they share when they think no one’s watching.
As guests began to arrive, the space came alive with chatter, clinking glasses, and laughter. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and refreshingly intimate; everyone stood close, forming a perfect circle of love around the couple. No grand aisles or fancy seating plans, just genuine connection and people who have been part of their story since day one.
And oh, the details! From the coffee, mimosas and local craft beers, to the three-tier charcuterie table that doubled as an edible masterpiece, every touch reflected who they are. There was even a thoughtful twist on the traditional gift idea: guests brought bottles of their favourite wine, so Cait and Ashley could toast to new memories for years to come. (I might have to steal that idea myself!)
As the sun set over Thornbury, the room glowed with candlelight and laughter. The evening was easy, warm, and filled with the kind of joy that lingers long after the last song plays. And as I packed up my camera, I couldn’t help but think this is what love looks like after ten years. Familiar, deep, and beautifully intentional.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to plan your own vow renewal, this is it. Whether it’s after one year, five, or fifty, take the time to celebrate how far you’ve come. Surround yourself with your people, honour your journey, and let your love story be retold in a new way.
