Sweet, Romantic & Vogue-Worthy: Capturing Alex & Matt’s Wedding Story

By Cassie Biffis, Curl Media — Ontario & Destination Wedding Content Creator

It’s always the late-night scrolls that get you. One evening, while tucked under a blanket and casually browsing a Facebook wedding group (the same one I had joined back when I was planning my own wedding), I stumbled across a post from a bride named Alex. She was searching for a wedding content creator and someone to capture her special day, someone willing to collaborate and help bring her vision to life.

What started as a brief comment and a few messages evolved into something more substantial. After some back-and-forth, Alex and Matt chose me to be their content creator. And from the moment I arrived on August 23, I knew this wasn’t going to be just any wedding. It felt like the opening chapter of a love story I’d been invited to step inside.

The entire day had a sweet, romantic, Vogue-worthy energy. From the venue to the couple themselves, everything whispered of timeless elegance and magazine-level beauty. I remember glancing at the photographer more than once during portraits and saying, “These could be in Vogue.” (Honestly, they could. Alex and Matt gave model-off-duty-in-love energy in every frame.)

It was also a milestone wedding for me, as it was my first time bringing out my camcorder to capture 90s-style home video footage alongside my usual content. Those grainy, nostalgic clips added a layer of intimacy to the day that felt so true to Alex and Matt’s story. It was a vibe I’ll never forget.

Everyone I worked with that day made the experience even more special. From the planners to the photo and video team, it was one of those dream collaborations where everyone shares the same goal: telling a couple’s story beautifully.

As the hours unfolded, I found myself falling in love with my favourite parts of weddings all over again, the quiet morning rituals as the couple gets ready, the small details only they would know, the speeches that make everyone tear up. Alex and Matt’s day was filled with those moments. Each one felt like another page being turned in a story that will be retold for years to come.

And, as always, capturing a wedding like this makes me reflect on my own journey. Every time I hear vows exchanged or watch a first dance, I think about my own wedding and how much I’ve learned since then. If someone asked me to do it all again (without the planning stress!), I’d say yes in a heartbeat. Weddings like Alex and Matt’s remind me why I started Moments by Curl Media: to preserve the fleeting, heartfelt moments that make a wedding day more than just a timeline of events.

Alex and Matt’s wedding wasn’t just beautiful; it was a reminder that every couple’s story is unique and deserves to be captured that way. Whether it’s a cozy elopement, a grand destination affair, or a chic, romantic celebration like theirs, my role is to tell your love story authentically and artistically.
